The IRS has announced an additional filing extension for taxpayers with valid extensions through October 15, and businesses with valid extensions through September 17.This also includes the September 17 deadline for making quarterly estimated tax payments.This extension is also granted by the NC Department of Revenue for returns and taxes due on or after September 8, 2018 and through January 31, 2019.(*Payroll tax deposits due on or after September 7, 2018 and before September 24, 2018 are waived only if the deposits are made on or before September 24, 2018*) Remember, income tax extensions are an extension of time to file a return, not an extension to pay what is due. These extended dates include taxpayers who reside within the disaster area OR whose records are located in the affected area.
